Ecoatoms is advancing space manufacturing and R&D by developing technologies that enable scalable production and research in microgravity, supporting the expansion of in-space capabilities and broader utilization of orbital environments. Our vision is to serve as a key enabler of practical, transformative progress in space technology and humanity’s expansion beyond Earth.
Our Journey
2022
- Ecoatoms is born in a garage in Atherton, CA after winning its first NASA grant.
2023
- First mission flown on board Blue Origin NS-24. Hundreds of experiments are performed in space simultaneously for the first time.
- The company starts consolidating the team.
2024
- Ecoatoms secures its first Fortune 500 client.
- The company expands the team in number and grows operations in Reno, NV.
- First NASA Space Act Agreement is signed to build a Universal Payload On-Board Computer, A.N.I.M.A.
- The team builds the L.E.T.O. and the Custom Payload to be flown in SpaceX Transporter 14.
2025
- Second and third missions are flown on board SpaceX Transporter 14 containing the L.E.T.O. and the Custom Payload.
- Ecoatoms wins its second Space Act Agreement with NASA to develop a DNA extraction payload to fly in 2026, the H.E.R.M.E.S. payload.
- The team flies the A.R.E.S. payload carrying hundreds of samples to be coated in space on board Blue Origin NS-35.
- A.R.E.S. is powered by A.N.I.M.A., fulfilling the contract one year ahead of schedule.
- The team starts to build the H.E.R.M.E.S. payload.
2026
- The team will be flying the H.E.R.M.E.S. mission.
- Ecoatoms will integrate A.N.I.M.A. to a NASA payload to be flown end of 2026.
- Our production scales up in preparation for Starship and Commercial LEO Destinations.
